Basic Properties

Molykote L-13 is a transparent, solvent-based thinner. It is composed of a mixture of organic solvents and contains no intentional polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) or per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).

Product Description

This product is specifically designed as a diluting and cleaning solvent for a range of MOLYKOTE® solvent-based anti-friction coatings. It is formulated to effectively reduce the viscosity of these coatings for application and to clean equipment and components after use.

Special Properties

Deepening its basic attributes, a key special property of Molykote L-13 is its formulation free of intentional PTFE or PFAS, addressing specific environmental and regulatory concerns. Its transparent nature allows for easy monitoring during the mixing and cleaning processes. The product has a defined usable life of 60 months from production when stored in its original unopened container between 0°C and 40°C.

Application Scenarios

Molykote L-13 is exclusively used for diluting specific MOLYKOTE® anti-friction coatings such as D 321 R, D 3484, 3400A, 3402-CLF, 106, PTFE-N UV, and D 708. It is also used for cleaning application equipment, spray guns, brushes, and parts coated with or soiled by these specific coatings. It is essential in maintenance workshops, manufacturing assembly lines, and repair operations where these specific MOLYKOTE® coatings are applied.
